⚠️Book - The Antichrist: The Greatest Threat Against Humanity and the Church, Federico Mihura Seeber

Federico Mihura Seeber, an Argentine lawyer and scholar of Catholic Tradition, published in 2018 what would become one of the most widely read and circulated books in Spanish-speaking traditionalist Catholic circles: El Anticristo – La mayor amenaza contra la humanidad y la Iglesia. With successive expanded editions, the work (the 2024 edition exceeds 700 pages) aims to be an urgent and well-founded warning about the proximity of the manifestation of the personal Antichrist and the definitive establishment of his kingdom.

📖 The Traditional Doctrine on the Antichrist

Faithful to Sacred Scripture, the Church Fathers, great theologians such as St. Thomas Aquinas, Francisco Suárez, St. Robert Bellarmine, Cardinal Billot, and the constant teaching of the Popes up to Pius XII, the author recalls fundamental points:

There will be a single personal Antichrist at the end of times: a concrete man, of Jewish origin (from the tribe of Dan, according to traditional patristic exegesis), endowed with prodigious intelligence, power of seduction, and the capacity to perform false miracles.
He will rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem, sit in it, and proclaim himself God (2 Thess 2:3-4).
Before his public coming, the "great apostasy" must be fulfilled and the "katechon" (that which restrains him) must be removed, traditionally identified with Christian temporal power and, ultimately, with the legitimate Papacy.

🐍 The Mystery of Iniquity Already at Work

The core of Mihura Seeber's thesis is that the "mystery of iniquity" (2 Thess 2:7) has already been operating openly for centuries and has reached its culminating point in current times. The major stages of this process were:

The French Revolution (1789), considered the first great dress rehearsal for the kingdom of the Antichrist.
The rise of liberalism, socialism, atheistic communism, and, within the Church itself, the modernism condemned by St. Pius X.
The Second Vatican Council, presented by the author as the internal revolution that opened the Church's doors to the "spirit of the Antichrist" through ecumenismo perditionis, the new liturgy, and collegiality which weakened papal authority.

⚡ Concrete Signs of the Imminence of the Personal Antichrist

The book enumerates, with an abundance of prophetic citations and historical facts, the signs that, according to Tradition, must precede the public manifestation of the Son of Perdition:

The restoration of the State of Israel (1948) and the advance of Zionist movements working for the reconstruction of the Third Temple.
The creation of supranational bodies (UN, WHO, World Economic Forum, EU) that prefigure the one world government.
The accelerated development of total control technologies (single digital identity, social credit, neurotechnology, implants), seen as remote preparation for the "mark of the beast," without which no one will be able to buy or sell (Rev 13:16-17).
The 2020-2022 pandemic and the global acceptance of mandatory health certificates are interpreted by the author as a general rehearsal of blind obedience to anti-Christian power.

📉 The Current Great Apostasy

The author documents with statistics and facts the massive desertion of the faith in countries of ancient Christendom: the closing of churches, the precipitous drop in vocations and sacramental practice, the abandonment of the traditional catechism, and the spread of religious syncretism. The "apostasy" prophesied by St. Paul (2 Thess 2:3) is considered to be largely consummated.

🛡️ The Katechon Removed

Following the classical interpretation, Mihura Seeber maintains that the katechon was progressively weakened throughout the 20th century and suffered a decisive blow with the resignation of Benedict XVI. The subsequent orientation of Francis' pontificate, whose documents and gestures (such as the Abu Dhabi Declaration, the cult of Pachamama, Fratelli tutti, and Fiducia supplicans) are viewed in the work as objective steps toward the universal syncretic religion that the Antichrist will impose.

🙏 What Remains for the Faithful

Faced with this panorama, the book ends with an energetic call to Catholic resistance:

Remain faithful to the Mass of All Ages (Tridentine Rite) and the traditional catechism.
Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Intense practice of the Holy Rosary, penance, fasting, and sacramental life.
Spiritual preparation for the events prophesied in Garabandal (Warning, Miracle, and, if necessary, Chastisement), which the author considers authentic and imminent.

🔚 Author's Conclusion

For Federico Mihura Seeber, we are already living the "minor tribulation." The spirit of the Antichrist reigns in much of the world and influences sectors of the visible hierarchy of the Church itself. The personal manifestation of the Man of Iniquity is at the doors, and the time for conversion is extremely short. The book does not intend to cause panic, but to awaken faithful Catholics so that, with Mary Most Holy, they may resist to the end and be found vigilant when the Lord returns.

This work of spiritual combat, written with prophetic urgency, has become a mandatory reference in Hispanic-American traditionalist Catholic circles that see in current events the literal fulfillment of the Church's eschatological prophecies.
